About Lion and Lamb Studios
The name Lion and Lamb Studios came from my fascination with religious imagery. (I used to own a lingerie shop called Original Sin...go figure!) Not only do I love the idea of the Lion laying down with the Lamb, as in, “hey can’t we all just get along?” but I also have my own little lamb in Ruby, who is so curious about what I do. She often comes into the workshop with me - when I’m not doing anything toxic or dangerous - and happily sits and strings beads into bracelets for us all. I wear at least one Ruby Original every day, and I have to say, she’s getting pretty good!
Lion and Lamb Studios is a one-woman show. I work while Ruby is at school, and hang out with her in the afternoons.
I am the production department, the shipping department, the marketing, advertising, photography, customer service and social media departments.
That said, it took 3 pairs of hands to build my workshop: mine, my husband’s, and my dad’s. I cherish every nail in there - not just for the luxury of the space itself, but for the sentiment of who helped me build it.
About my products....
I love to use natural stones from all over the world. There is so much beauty deep in the earth, and learning about the science that went down in order for the right combination of minerals to get together is just mind blowing.
Yay Science!
Turquoise is a huge obsession for me, and it plays a major role in my designs. I’m still learning about all the amazing kinds there are in the world, and I’m truly fascinated by the different appearances it can have.
I often use antlers, teeth, bones, and leather in my work. I know that animal products are a tough topic for some, but I truly believe that my art honors the life of the Ones it is made from.
